The children at Ditcheat Primary School held a Harvest service in their village church and raised cash for the Royal British Legion.

The children performed small plays, prayers and read poetry as well as singing and signing harvest songs.

They invited parents back to school for tea with apple cakes and flapjacks that they had made in school the day before.

Richard Reid held an auction to sell the produce kindly donated by parents. The events – with the church collection raising £126.43, the auction £84 and a donation from the Manor Inn of £25 – raised a grand total of £235.43 for the Legion.
